The QPU cannot ingest raw sensor data from 10,000 grid nodes directly. A classical GPU cluster handles data ingestion, preprocessing, and post-processing. This is the NVQLink bridge: real-time, low-latency quantum-classical interconnect. The two systems divide labor by nature: quantum handles combinatorial explosion; classical handles sequential throughput. Neither is redundant.
The QPU handles problems that break classical machines — optimization across a trillion-node network, simultaneous probability evaluation, molecular simulation. For grid management, it runs a continuous variational quantum eigensolver across the entire topology, holding every node in superposition and collapsing to optimal routing in milliseconds. What a classical optimizer approximates in 40 minutes, the QPU solves exactly in 3 seconds.
The dilution refrigerator is the most precise machine humanity has built. It maintains temperatures colder than outer space (2.7K). At these temperatures, materials become superconducting, electrons pair, and quantum coherence becomes possible.
